RPZ Valve Services

Reduced Pressure Zone valves, commonly known as RPZ valves, are a critical line of defence against backflow contamination in commercial water systems. When functioning correctly, they prevent contaminated water from flowing back into the mains supply. When they fail or go untested, that protection is lost.

Annual testing by an accredited engineer is a legal requirement under the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. ClearFlow Water Limited provides fully accredited RPZ valve testing, commissioning and maintenance services for commercial properties across Kent, South East London and Essex.

What Is an RPZ Valve?

An RPZ valve (Type BA backflow prevention device) is a mechanical device installed in a water system to protect the mains drinking water supply from contamination caused by backflow, the reversal of water flow that can occur when pressure in a system drops.

They are commonly required on commercial premises where there is a risk of the water supply coming into contact with chemicals, effluent or other contaminants, including irrigation systems, industrial processes, car washes and certain commercial heating systems.
